Outstanding fishing has coupled with beautiful weather over the last few days, making this a week of plenty here at Dockside. The selection at our Market is about as good as it gets with strong supplies of many local favorites, including, Vermilion Rockfish, Lingcod, Grenadier, California Halibut, and White Seabass. The only thing that we are lacking this week is King Salmon, but that may change as soon as few of our local captains who traveled northward make the journey back home with fish in tow.
The captains who stayed near home this week including Capt. Patchen of the Kaps, Capt. McGill of the 4-Baja, Capt. Buckman of the Buckfish, and Capt. Bigham of the Big Time were rewarded with strong landings of Lingcod and Vermilion Rockfish. Blackcod fishing was also successful for Capt. Owen Hackleman of the Provision and Capt. Steve Hackleman of the Ruth Anne II. Capt. Le of the Eagle had another outstanding trip fishing Grenadier while Capt. Shiflett of the Mr. T, Capt. Dunn of the Bushwacker, and Capt. VanWagner of the Pure Adrenaline all had landings of California Halibut. Last but definitely not least, White Seabass fishing has been going very strong with landings from Capt. Losieau of the Fog Dog, Capt. Mowry of the No Name, Capt. Conners of the Silver Bullet and Capt. Athens of the Outer Banks.
The success of these local captains allows us to feature local White Seabass this week for $14.95 per pound for fillets or as whole fish for $6.95 per pound. As always when you purchase a whole fish cutting is included at no additional charge. The White Seabass this week are large with most ranging from 20 to about 40 lbs. So bring your appetite or a few friends and enjoy!
